In many Japanese regions wall sockets of type B (3 pins with earth contact) are not usual. For this reason only travel adapter plugs with a type A plug (2 pins without earth contact) can be used there, e.g. 00044211
Neither transforms the electrical voltage nor does it modify the mains frequency.
